Alabama’s Property Protection Act took effect October 1, 2026. It adds identity and ownership-document requirements for certain property listings submitted directly by owners to online real estate platforms.
Since then, Zillow has stopped showing Alabama For Sale By Owner listings. The law does not ban selling your own home. It distinguishes direct owner submissions from listings first placed with a licensed real estate broker, brokerage, or MLS—and that is exactly what we do.
